expanded icon sets in V Next: Less is More.

    Hi,

When I apply conditional formatting to a range of numbers in a large table I want to show a bright red icon when that metric exceeds a threshold and NO icon at all if the metric is withing acceptable limits. The highlighting effect of red icons against a few exceptions would be increased by eliminating the green icons altogether. So I'd like an icon set containing 1 icon only.

It would then be useful to be able to choose the colour of icons: red or green.

I've been trying to apply what I've read in "Information Dashbord Design" by Stephen Few.

    Cheers,

    Michael Nagy

That's a good plan, I never thought of less, but I suspect we will see some work here in V.Next as it is a little under-cooked.

Whilst it is tough to represent, I would also like something to show deciles graphically. We use that all the time here in mail order. It's the opposite end of your minimalist approach, so basically it could be fixed with a icon gallery and custom icons.
