    2000 version to be saved as 2010 but then opening the 2010 version is giving Unreadable Content

    Hi, I had a nr of occasions where i saved a big 2000 version file as a 2010 version (like xlsb).

    Then opening the 2010 version Excel pops up saying it found unreadable content and asks if it needs to repair it.

    When saying yes it is taking out certain data and the file gets destroyed.

    see below output as an example:

    Removed Feature: External formula reference from /xl/workbook.xml part (Workbook)

    Removed Feature: External formula reference from /xl/styles.xml part (Styles)

    Removed Feature: External formula reference from /xl/pivotCache/pivotCacheDefinition1.xml part (PivotTable cache)

    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8" standalone="yes" ?>

    - <recoveryLog xmlns="http://schemas.openxmlformats.org/spreadsheetml/2006/main">

      <logFileName>error077200_02.xml</logFileName>

      <summary>Errors were detected in file '\\wcsbrnlfipr1\datshare\Finance\Treasury\Cash operations\Daphne folders\Cash transfer\ALCO\Cash - Cashpool Dec-14.xlsm'</summary>

    - <removedFeatures summary="Following is a list of removed features:">

      <removedFeature>Removed Feature: External formula reference from /xl/workbook.xml part (Workbook)</removedFeature>

      <removedFeature>Removed Feature: External formula reference from /xl/styles.xml part (Styles)</removedFeature>

      <removedFeature>Removed Feature: External formula reference from /xl/pivotCache/pivotCacheDefinition1.xml part (PivotTable cache)</removedFeature>

      </removedFeatures>

      </recoveryLog>

    What is causing this ?

    And how to prevent this?

    Regards.
