    Problems accessing files

I am using 2007 excel and I am having problems opening files. When attempting to open the selected file it will try to open and just stay in limbo until I click the close icon. Now I have tried opening the same file on my laptop, which is using 2007, and it will open with no problems. This is happening to only a handful of files and I have the most recent updates and I have tried uninstalling the product and reinstalling.

    Please help

    Jack

Are there any differences between the machines?

    Things to check

    1. Is one on a network? Excel brings a local copy over from the network before opening it making some latency if on a network.
    2. Do they both have the same virus scanner?
    3. Are the files native 2007 or converted XL97 up?
    4. Are they xlsx (or m) or xls?
    5. Try recreating your profile on the slow machine and see if there is corruption there
    6. Try resetting the file associations on the slow machine

Just a few questions as food for thought
