Not that I know of. The compiled code gets saved with the workbook and increases its size. When compiled, code starts a bit faster the first time.

I have noticed that some VSTO database code is very slow when run first time, but is then comparable to VBA speed on subsequent use in the same session.  Is this normal behaviour?  I haven't used VB6 code, so I can't make a comparison with that.

I have come across something called "Just In Time" compiling.  Is this related to the performance lag in VSTO?

According to this site you are usually better of not being compiled as the code compiled faster than it is read.
