    logging out and updating files

Using Firefox, I am unable to find a button to log out of the group.

Also, I am unable to update files as there is no edit button.

     Hi

Sorry I've been away for a week. I don't have Firefox on this machine, can anyone else replicate the issues that Jim is having?

    Thanks

Re: logging out and updating files

I can get around no log out button (using Firefox), as I can find the spot where the top edge of the log out button should be and click that.

However, using either Internet Explorer or Firefox there is no apparent way to edit/replace files that have been uploaded.

    Hello Jim

I don't think the no Sign Out button is a Firefox-specific issue as that's my browser of choice and I can see it without a problem (I'm using the latest patched version of FF2).

I can't comment on your other problem, however.

    Best regards

Thanks for the confirmation. I am sure the file edit is a permissions issue, so I will get onto that.

I wonder Jim if clearing the temp internet files, etc will help, or maybe it is the version issue?

Hope that you can confirm you are OK

Re: logging out and updating files

The invisible sign out button reappeared after I reduced the minimum font size allowed in Firefox.

However, still no edit button visible when I go to files I have uploaded.

    Hi Jim

You don't have a Firefox extension like NoScript disabling Javascript on the site do you?  I'm not familiar with this site's encoding, but commonly buttons are implemented using Javascript, so it could be the source of your problem.

Re: logging out and updating files

    Richard,

I just double-checked Firefox options and both java and java script are enabled.

I have no add-ons installed in Firefox.

The issue remaining is no "edit" button available for uploads.  This occurs with

    either Internet Explorer(7) or Firefox(2.0.0.14)

     Jim

I've changed a couple of settings

    1. Set up a 'File Owner' role and added you to it
    2. Set that role to allow 'edits'

I could allow deletes but that may be a little dangerous. If anyone else has files and wants these edit priviledges let me know

PS: MVPs already have this ability in there 'Role' profile.
