    custom number formats

This is probably an easy one for all of you...

I have been creating a custom number format on new excel files almost daily.  I want to create the format and save it so that the format comes up every time I open excel and start a new spreadsheet, just like the built-in formats.  How do I keep the format rather than starting from scratch each time?  Here are a few of the formats that I use all the time:

    ??0.0

    (#,###)

    ?,???0

    Thanks for your help!

Open a new workbook.  Customize as you wish, custom formats, number of sheets, styles, any default evnt code or macros.

Save the file as an Excel template in the XLSTART directory with the name BOOK.XLT.

This will then be the default workbook for File>New,  the Toolbar button New or CTRL-n.

Note that if you use File>New...Blank Workbookr you will get the Excel default workbook.

    Regards

    Bob

EXACTLY what I needed!  Thanks so much!  (Sort of glad to hear that it wasn't just an obvious little fix!)
