    Show values during Step Into

I am using a MacBook Pro running OSX Tiger and I want to write and run VBA macros in Excel.  I am able to run a Windows version of Excel 2003 using Parallels software.  The systems works fine and in Step Into mode, I can see values when I hover the cursor over an object.  However, using Excel for Mac 2004 in 'normal' Mac mode ie not using Parallels, I cannot see the values when I hover the cursor over an object.

Can anyone please tell me if there is a setting to adjust to show these values?  Also, what is this 'hover and show' phenomenon  called?

    Regards, Ken Rock

     Ken,

I'm not sure of the actual answer to your question, but I have a workaround for you.  The Locals window will display the values of all variables in a procedure. Having this open will obviate the need for the 'hover and show' (which is probably 'MouseOver').  It will cost you a bit of real estate, but I find that's not as much of an issue during debugging.

    Hi David,

Many thanks for the speedy reply.

I notice that whilst I have access to the Locals window (and Immediate and Watch) in Excel 2003, I can only see Immediate in Excel 2004.  Is this significant?

    Regards, Ken Rock
