    I am pretty sure that if you wish to put the data validation list on another sheet, you must name the range, then specify that name in the data validation dialog. Cheers, Rick

  • pop -up message for missing entry

    I have a cell ("Cell B") that needs entry (an explanation) if another cell ("Cell A") fits certain criteria. Would like a message to pop-up if Cell A meets criteria but no entry is made in Cell B.

    Spindrift I'm sure David's answer is the way to go if you want to validate data. To complete the answer, Access has 'placeholders', Excel does not. You could also use a Worksheet_Change() event to validate the input into a cell and if you could validate as a date (4, 5 or six numbers...
